Responsibilities
Each member of the B&C executive team is responsible for several aspects of club operations to ensure that everything goes smoothly.
There are several duties common to all executives:

President
- Must be available for the Executive Orientation, date TBA
The president chairs weekly executive meetings to plan and prepare for upcoming events and fundraisers; delegates and keeps track of tasks assigned to executives; runs craft events, which involves organizing registration, creating prototypes of the project, coordinating material purchases and distribution, and teaching crafts to club members; organizes recruitment of members and executives, and club fundraisers, including soliciting new members, manufacturing merchandise and selling merchandise; liaises with club members via email or in person, answering questions and fielding comments to discuss at weekly executive meetings.
The ideal candiate will be organized, have leadership skills, have good interpersonal skills, and be able to multitask.
Vice-president
The Vice-President position provides assistance to other members of the club in a leadership role, offering guidance and support in completing their deliverables.
In addition, this position is responsible for assisting the president with decision making and the delegation of responsibilities and goals. Furthermore, the Vice-President must be proactive in helping to dissolve problems or conflicts, ensuring that the club will run efficiently and effectively.
Treasurer
- Must be available for the Executive Orientation, date TBA
The treasurer provides financial direction for the club, prepares the budget, oversees financial activities, and completes financial transactions in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate would be responsible, organized, and efficient.
Secretary
As secretary of the Beads and Crafts Club, your primary duty will be to record the minutes of the club's weekly executive meetings and send these minutes via email to the other executives. You will also be expected to contribute ideas to the operations of the club during these meetings.
If need be, you will be asked to assist other members in their duties as well. (e.g., procuring supplies and materials)
Also, you will be asked to perform the administrative aspects of the club including organizing the club's membership lists, executive contact lists, and organizing the club locker when necessary.
Bookings Representative
The Bookings Representative is responsible for booking the locations where the club holds its events and meetings. Good communication and organizational skills are important for this position, as it will require finding suitable time slots among all executive members' schedules for executive meetings and workshop times.
Equipment Representative
The equipment representative is responsible for purchasing and maintaining tools and equipment. This requires awareness of the necessary items for workshops as well as knowledge of the club's inventory. With this knowledge, the equipment rep may suggest ideas for future events.
Marketing Representative
The main responsibilities of the Marketing Representative are to design posters and print advertisements for promoting the club. You will assist with leading and teaching at club events, along with administrative or logistical tasks, such as setting and cleaning up. The Marketing Representative also contacts businesses to find corporate sponsors for our club, as well as maintain contact with any sponsors. Good customer service skills are helpful.
A background or knowledge in graphic design, graphic editing software such as Photoshop, and a creative flair are definite assets. This position is a great opportunity for anyone interested in marketing, public relations, or graphic design.
Webmaster
The webmaster is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining the B&C website. This includes posting announcements of upcoming events, handling online registration, and communicating with members through the website.
A sound knowledge of HTML and CSS is not completely essential, but some background in PHP an asset.
General Exec (Multiple Positions)
The general executive position takes part in a little bit of everything such as preparing materials for the members of the club ahead of time. Also, if needed the general executive would also be responsible for helping the marketing representative find sponsors.
An ideal candidate is willing to help whenever possible.
